Mission
1. The mission of the LKCTC Pharmacy School of Pharmacy is “Learn to earn- a dignified life” by providing high-quality technical education which contributes to nation-building and the world at large with intelligent, passionate, and efficient pharmaceutical professionals.
2. To inculcate entrepreneurship by providing industry-institute interaction.
3. To promote writing and publications in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.
4. To provide a trained and ready-to-deploy knowledgeable workforce for the academia & industry.
5. To advance societal health through leadership in pharmacy education, research, community engagement (through the promotion of safe, effective and rational use of medicines), patient counseling and disease management (through pharmaceutical care).
Course Rationale
Pharmacy is a job oriented undergraduate program for science students with the inclination to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical arena. Pharmacists are not only responsible for drug research, development, preparation, and dispensing but also the examination of their effectiveness and side effects. The course constitutes the study of 4 basic entities comprising Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutics, and Pharmacology; ranging from synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients to formulation development and evaluation.
Scope of Employment (Career Opportunities)
Pharmacy graduates have numerous career opportunities available from government/ public sector organizations to private associations. The Pharmacy graduates can opt for entrepreneurship too by setting up their retail outlet or can peruse to be pharmaceutical medicine distributor/wholesaler. They can also set up their manufacturing unit or can market their medicinal products by getting them manufactured through a third party. This is in reference to our discussion with your good self, regarding signing of the MOU with PIMS hospital Jalandhar and Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus (School of Pharmacy) Jalandhar, for providing practical training/ internship to the students of Pharm D. We are more than 110 year old organization working under the ages of the Khalsa College Lyallpur Education Charitable Trust, Jalandhar with the glorious past for serving the society in the field of education under the leadership and guidance of Sardarni Balbir Kaur. The Trust is successfully running a number of multi-disciplinary educational institutions ranging from Arts & Literature to Management & IT. We are enclosing here with Pharm .D regulations 2008 and a drafted copy of MOU for your reference. Looking forward for the cordial and long-term association.
